Train accidents happen in every country, give that man a chance. Something which hasn't been done in 70 years needs at least some time to build. What options do you have Congress, lalus, mamta or kejri...?

Just like they abolish 5 years plan with useless 15 years NITI aayog.. they want to abolish railway budget. why do we need useless railway minister sucking tax payer money?

@fisa: It has become a trend these days. A dog died on the street and who is responsible? PM Modi. Utter non-sense. Previous Indian Governments had (please note that I have not stated any political party's name explicitly) over 50 years to improve railways, bring in new technology and infrastructure. But, the fact is even today we have same dirty coaches and average speed of the train is also almost same. Now, one man here, being visionary, tried to bring new technology, and we have some idiots who "just want to troll PM, no matter what he does". The fact is, most of the comments are from fake users being used as social media engine by political parties. Be sensible and true to you and nation. We probably have more number of corrupt, greedy citizens than in ANY country.

Bullet train is being financed using loans. Ticket prices of such trains will be higher. It also gives us an alternative high speed mode of transport that is cheaper and fuel efficient. Which is why so many countries (China, Taiwan, Korea, UK, Italy, US, Russia, Spain; not to mention the leaders Germany, France and Japan) are investing in this technology. If we don't do this investment we will be left behind. Societies which do not embrace new technology will remain poor and backward.
Indian railways has been running at a loss thanks to populism (it gets 40K as subsidy from govt every year). Railways finances cannot be improved without some fare hike (advertisements in trains, railtel, leasing of land/stations etc do not work) which nobody likes.

indian lives are cheap. First make them stand in queue for hours to get their own money. Cant the govt improve railways and not cut their budget and improve technology so that lives are not lost. Let the money come from the PMs travel budget first. Let him show by example. Enough of photo ops.

There is no development on the current infrastructure and we are talking about high speed trains. These high speed trains will have free tickets to the other world.
@manoj: Seems to be done purposefully before elections. Making fool of common people has been a practice by congress and its allies. SP can go to any extent to win election even if it be murder of 1000's. Ultimately who is to be blamed the govt. For last two and half years there was no major accident how come suddenly this accident took place just before UP election. High handedness of some SP ministers. Railways is definitely under BJP but the rail lines passes through SP controlled state. They can remove tracks or bent it to gain some votes. As Indians we should be ashamed. I hope they be punished severely by god.
