This is one of the heartening aspect prevalent but not apparently seen in real estate sector.efforts should be made for compiling the relevant data so that work should be done towards passing of appropriate compensation policy...

This is really a worry in Case of Workers.

One more worry is there which NDTV and other places must check.
1.Minimum Rs. 28,000,000,000,000,000 of Investors are there in Commercial or Restidential Properties....
Its just a small calculation of mine..
If Government will not move Economy will be in Trouble.

It is truthful that Indian construction practice or condition is one of most hazardous, with most polluted environment to destroy the lungs of workers.and dangerous working conditions in the world.
Even if you take any top construction company.
India being top in gap between rich and poor no value for these workers any way comes bottom of society i am civil engineer and i have seen it.

Life is cheap in India, because we believe in fate and the insignificance of lower strata. Other countries whether rich or poor dont believe such and thus are cautious about human life.

thanks for NDTV for this topic. its the truth and other industries should also be shown. industries employ safety professionals and maintain records only as eye wash to the law but the bitter fact is the management never takes it seriously to implement the laws. More over why is the Labour department and the DG of safety not serious to implement the things?

@Anonymous: Frankly, this didn't occur to me when I read the article. Maybe a rough verification can be made by taking a random sample and investigating. Just my guess.

It's true. There are no safety norms... Dress codes for the building workers....Ins coverage... Temporary houses... Last good medical facilities. India should come with policies to protect construction workers...

Owners / clients consider safety as the last priority , no helmets , safety shoes , hats etc , after all he is a worker / labour if he is not careful let him die or get injured , this is the mindset of clients /contractor. Govt should come with very tough rules to stop the construction irrespective of the size of project and all temporary measures fire fighting equipment should be in place , well all said and done , every one will say these are in the books , govt should take tough steps private or public construction. This article from NDTV should be a game changer for the govt and construction industry , NDTV should expose more details in future
